First time I ever posted ANYTHING on this forum. Learning how to navigate around it. And you are such a "nice" person that you had to be a JERK about it. Obviously important to me or I wouldn't have posted in the first place.

Red Blooded has that effect on people. :D

Thanks everyone for your responses. This information is helpful. And XRAC, I probably shouldn't have let Red Blooded's response bother me, but my god, I don't have much patience with snarky, immature people who make sarcastic comments, while hiding behind their computer screens. :)

Easy killer. You should have chilled out about it to begin with. Now you're just adding more insults?

What some here fail to realize is that most people don't live in the forum world like us here do, so when someone is new, they don't know forum "etiquette" (probably because they aren't members of any forums) and for some reason it bothers people. I have no idea why it would bother anyone, but then again, I'm easy going. Im glad you were able to get your question answered, if you have anymore, don't hesitate to ask.

To add to what was already said about no prior insurance. Having prior insurance shows responsibility. The less responsible you are, the more likely to file a claim.

For the record, some states, like California, do not surcharge for no previous insurance. We also don't discount for having previous insurance with another carrier, though that might change soon.

I think CA is the only state (only one I'm aware of) that previous coverage doesn't have an impact on rates. In other states, it seems to have varying degrees of impact.

Would you say that is an underwriting thing, or a state intervention thing?

Never an underwriting thing, always a state intervention. Similar to how we don't use credit scoring.

Ironically, a voter passed initiative is working to change this, where you can get your loyalty discount transferred. I laughed at the way it was presented, basically, they talked the public into supporting a rate increase and the public feel for it.

i think that man every insurance company has its own policy but can you tell us that where you live or the company name and the company only insure the persons.and the rates depend o the company policy

Do you speak English?
