Norvax - More Worthless Than Ever Before

Norvax finally started quoting 2014 plans on Nov 1st.

In Texas, they're only quoting BC & Cigna.
They're only leaving out 6-8 additional carriers.

For Co-insurance, they list the METAL plan description/title (only).
Like: BRONZE (That's it!)

For Deductible, they're ONLY listing the FAMILY deductible (when quoting families)......as if it's an aggregate deductible for ALL companies/plans.

They've NEVER listed Maximum OOP (on initial quote screen).
This figure is more important than ever before (for 2014)..for me.
I HAD all of the max OOP's memorized for 2013...but don't have them memorized for 2014.
So, I'm hunting & pecking constantly (with 2014 quotes).

VP is helpful....but still missing lots of plan info.

Cigna doesn't list Max OOP (on their initial quotes screen) either.
You have to drill-down to get it.....(like Norvax).

BC is missing important data, too (on initial quotes screen).

Humana......We MUST watch out for Aggregate Deductibles.

I was tempted to DROP Norvax when they asked me for more money to provide 2014 enhancements. But, didn't have the time to make the move to Quotit.
Quotit isn't quoting 2014 plans YET.
But, I'll bet they'll be worth any extra costs (over Norvax costs) for 2014.

I have never used Norvax to "sell" with.....(show the client).
It's done nothing more than create a "lead" for me & confuse the client enough to create a real NEED for agent assistance.

Anyone got any quicker solutions (for agent comparison purposes)?

-----------

Another constant problem I've had with Norvax over the years:
- When client CAN compare & pick-a-plan by themselves, I NEVER know whether the "Apply Now" button will work or not

I have to re-set that function (in Preferences) at least 2x/year.

Just use ehealth and kaiser subsidy calculator. Ehealth doesnt have all the companies up yet, has three for ohio, Aetna, Anthem, and Companion. I have Medical Mutual that I quote separately.
So I have the top 3 companies in the state, and send the Medical Mutual apply quote email after they see the other ehealth quotes....for free;-)

Quotit hopes to have all plans loaded by mid November. I understand some carriers are still waiting on rate & plan approval.

Last time I tried e-health, they were only quoting Cigna.
(E-heath is probably as excited as the obama folks about their hit counts. I'd guess that 90% of their hits are probably from the news media & agents.)

Stibroker MIGHT be seeing Assurant-ONLY in certain counties...???
And, I MIGHT be seeing BC & Cigna ONLY in certain OTHER counties...???

Can't speak to Norvax, or eHealth. But I do know Quotit only has a few carriers populated, mostly in metro areas. Move out to the boonies and you usually see plans but no rates.

Don't see any BX plans anywhere, which is really odd.

I was talking about the quote engine I use.....and it is not norvax or quotit.....

Norvax does show deductible and MOOP

What they don't show is HSA eligible or coinsurance

they have 5-6 companies listed now in AZ, and 2-3 in FL at least but it depends on the county.

No Assurant Off exchange offerings yet showing up.

I had to go to 4 carriers today to run rates off exchange, pull down PDF on each plan, make notes on a yellow pad, then decide which one to send to my client.

That's a PITA and takes 15+ minutes. So much easier when I can use one site and put the data in once.

For the few I have done so far Humana has the best value but don't want to make the assumption they will be that way all the time.

Assurant is in the hunt, more so than they have been in the past, but not where they need to be even if they were paying 20% commission.

I am in Texas and Norvax does show deductible and MOP. In order to see this info. make sure you do not run the quote under "Classic View."
