Nuts and Bolts of F.E.

Just because something cost more does not make it an inferior product-

If I bought a pair of Levi 505 for $50 and the next guy bought 505's for $40- It does not make the $50 pair any less inferior to the $40 pair

It's the same sh*t

After several calls & door knocking, I did my 1st presentation today! It was short, but not sweet, lol!! Turns out he had a Monu policy for 12k hes had for years but didnt realize til after he sent in card...I tried to pry for a reason he may want more (kids seed $$, house pmts, bills owed), but nothing doing. Oh well, still looking for 1st sale....at least he let me in from a door knock (although we had spoken on the phone before-but I didnt have an appt)!

Happy (but broke) Times, lol!!

Dont forget to mention medical bills, which is an in for, "depending on the type of medicare plan you have"...and you can find out which company he has and.whether its a med supp (easy to sell) or an MA. Never leave money on the table. Always ask to keep in touch in case things change which allows you to come back to the medicare question or ask for referrals.

I asked for referrals, if his kids were covered....told him about all the "extra" expenses that come up that ppl dont think about when they pass (ambulance, medical, Drs, taxes, creditors, etc), nothing!! But I dont do Med Supp!!

Thx

As I told you in the email, I only make a presentation to interested people. If they can't tell you why they sent it in or why you are there you are spinning your wheels.

It's OK to go ahead and plow through now for practice, but your BS meter will improve over time.

JD, u know this "ole pro" with no sales yet (LOL) listens....I was there a total of 12min tops. He initially said he sent the card in cause he was concerned about final expenses, then a few min later said he was covered. When I questioned him about it, thats when he said he didnt realize it til AFTER he sent card in!! I didn't wanna leave right when he said it, just to make sure I was covering my bases & I had nowhere to go afterwards.

I'm certainly no expert in senior market but why don't you offer a quote on Med Supp plans while you're talking to them?

Yeah, that should be done. I ask every person I meet with who they have their med sup with. Most FE respondents are not going to have a med sup at all. They will be on an MA plan or nothing. But, you should always at least check on the med sup situation.

Just curious jd, if you track these folks on MA plans, as to who they are with and market to them prior to the following AEP? If so, do you get a response worth the effort? Seems like this would be like a farmer planting seeds as you go throughout the year, and harvest them about Oct each yr.

I can't remember if you still deal with MA plans.
