I thought the speech regarding health care was weak.
He talked about getting rid of the 1099 law but where is going to make those taxes?
He talked about streamlining Gov. with reduction of agencies. The Health Care law created 149 new agencies.
These Libs want to concentrate on the handful of good things in the health law and forget to mention the other 1000 pages. I really think the libs have not really thought about the math on the law.
This law has to be changed. I am ok with some of the GI stuff and with some type of exchange as long as agents are part of the equation. The expansion of medicaid is going to destroy states. I would like to see a complete revamp of the medicaid program.
As for the rest of the speech I felt is was weak at best.

The speech writers did a great job and Obama's delivery reading from the tele-prompter was excellent. I also liked the way they had the Dems and Reps sitting togather, that was nice.

As I've said many times here I voted for Reagan in 1984 as well as W in both 2000 and 2004. I do have the "copacity" to understand past "Good evening." Honest, I do.
I did call and I did leave a message. I would like to speak with you to get some clarity on what you mean here and why you are so angry with me. I surely don't remember saying anything bad about you.
I don't think you are horrible and I'm not sure if you are informed or not. I do know you have expressed a great deal of anger and hostility, but I don't understand why you named me and have denigrated me so much in your post. It seems to me your post would "stand" without mentioning me.
I don't remember us ever talking. Have we? Have we had any verbal or written correspondence? I don't remember... but I'm getting old and I forget things.
Mental hospital? I don't know, but with your demonstrated anger management issues maybe you should seek some way to mitigate it... and perhaps some formal therapy would be beneficial.
Well, you WILL have a chance to "run" him out of office in 24 months. You DO know that don't you?

We have another libertarian member in this venue who has often exhibited very similar anger... toward me... as well as toward the current administration. Actually "anger" is not the right word. "Rage" is is better characterization.
I ask again. Do you carry a gun?

That's a pretty twisted world view. Of course there are folks who abuse the system, but there are folks who truly need the extra help and "LET THEM BURN" isn't the solution to the problem.
I'm not as convinced. It looks like Obama might be changing direction, especially if he comes through with some of the statements he made.
Why not scream and rip your head off?
Al is a variety of things, but I wouldn't call him an ignorant stick. He holds views that I for the most part either disagree with or strongly disagree with, but he does have well thought out and logical arguments for some of that. Even the ones that aren't as logical, are well thought out.
Now to end on a slightly cheap note. Al can also usually use proper grammar and punctuation.
