Obomacare Pre X Clarification?

Can you guys give some clarification on the doing away with pre x on individual plans mandate? Did I hear that it has to be in place within 6 months? And does that also mean we can expect hugh rate increase requests going to the state insurance commisiners soon to off-set? Tanks

That is what a local Health Brokerage is saying on the radio. It goes in effect in 9 months so the insurance companies have no choice but to increase rates the next go around if not right away to offset this added risk.

That my friend is how there will be a public health care plan. They will kill the insurance companies with regulation that makes it impossible for them to offer plans and protect themselves from adverse selection.

Thanks Sunmed, that's what I thought I heard. So then immediatly children with pre x are accepted but are they still subject to a pre x waiting period on the specifuc pre x???

There are no pre ex waiting periods if uninsured. Obama wants everyone to buy only when sick.

No Pre X conditions for kids in 6 months, but insurers can still decline them.

In the Risk pool - you must be uninsurable (ie: Declination letter from insurer) and you must be uninsured for 6 months to be eligible.

In 2014 no prexisting allowed.

Where did you find this information on the pre-x? I thought is was no pre-x exclusions for the carriers.
