Old School Final Expense

One of my first stops in this business was with Parker and Associates, the agent usually worked at least 2 weeks out of the month away from their house. They claimed you wrote bigger and better business when you are away from you home. Which to a certain percentage I agree.

My question, is with all the advancements in technology, does anyone still actually do this?

I don't get leads in my home county by choice. I usually work two days a week in the field and I want my appointments to be at least an hour away from home.

That works for me.

What I wanted to ask and what I typed ended up being two different things. Here is my real question does anyone travel more than 200 miles from their house and work final expense at least 2 weeks out of the month on the road? I ask b/c, I recently spoke with an agent that drove 7 hours from Jackson,MS to Tallahassee Florida last week and wrote over 8000 in AV.

Just curious, if this is still being done. Thanks.

I don't know of anyone just traveling for two weeks at a time and I know pretty much all the heavy hitters in FE.

I do know that the best FE agent in the world is in the field at least 3 days per week and he is 200 miles from home and stays there for the 2 or 3 days that he is working.

He has written over $400,000 in ap for two years in a row now doing it that way. I've never known him to go somewhere for a week or more and just stay there.

In the case of your guy, if I drove more than 7 hours and spent a week somewhere and only wrote $8000 ap, I would be pissed off and wouldn't want to do that again.

JD, thanks for your reply. The biggest producer I know does about 300,000 in ap and basically goes wherever his agency sends him, but has someone set up all his appointments for him.

JD, does the guy that does over 400,000 in ap a year work through efes? If so I may know who you are referring to.

Yep, he's an EFES guy. He has been with EFES for two years this month. He has written over $850,000 ap in those two years.

He is in my group with Hoosierdaddy, so I get to be on a conf. call with him every friday. I have gained a wealth of knowledge just from those calls.
