No booze since Xmas eve. ... stomach's shrink'n already and my nerves aren't shot for a change. Not bad.
This is called channeling.
Now it's a job destroyer instead of a job killer.
Good thing they renamed that veiled socialist manifesto before another one of the unwashed masses got inspired and went out and got himself a glock ...?
Incidentally, every time one of these wingnuts works it's way loose I am always struck by the fact that the source of the assaliant's weapon is never revealed via the media. Anyone know how he got his hands on it?
I know, I know, guns don't kill people, a holes kill people but even so ...?
Back to the bill.
Tavis Smiley, who I normally like, was on C span last eve.; at one point, and I'm paraphrasing, he said that the bill's current degree of implementation was welcomed by black people ...
Did I miss something? Is anybody extolling the virtues of the changes that are in effect so far? Children 1 - 18 have to get on a plan with at least one parent to get indie health coverage and then only with a rate up with some carriers. Unless, before one of you chimes in, they buy a limited medical or STM plan. Instead of 5 million dollars worth of coverage we now have unlimited coverage. R/x must be unlimited (on plans that have any r/x coverage) and all plans must "pay for" mams, paps, and wellcare child visits ... that about it?
Part of me truly wishes that they would get their wish, and force insurance companies to price themselves out of business by enacting their "no preexisting conditions mandate" because I do not think they have any idea what would happen. The only people that would not be adversely affected would be the wealthy. Instead of the indigent and poor waiting 11 hours to see an intern at the free clinic, everyone but the rich would have to do the same. Medical providers would work longer hours for less money. With no monies coming in via premiums, where would the money come from to pay these providers? The public outrage would be beyond description as they, finally getting it, would storm 1600 Pennsylvania demanding the return of preexisting conditions and medically underwritten health plans.
