Only Stragglers Left?

Peeler's secret location exposed

I've noticed a slowdown, both in apps, and general questions. There was a mad rush in December, and it seems to have been slowing down ever since. For sure, my licensed associates are less enthusiastic about negotiating the exchanges after 6 months of issues/roadblocks/errors/etc.

That said, March will probably be the month that I technically write the most exchange business (while spending the least time on it). There are a lot of clients I helped over the past few months that never finalized the enrollment. I'm hoping the looming deadline is enough of an incentive for them to commit and pay.

I''m getting the opposite. I've written more Exchange plans in the last week than the last 3 months. My phone and email are exploding with "The deadline is here and I need to get this done. When can we get together?"

I'm really wishing I had figured out that "join me" thing right now...

kgmom,

go to www.join.me
Click "start meeting", download the little program, and run it. Should take less than a minute, start to finish.

Call your client, and refer them to www.join.me . They enter the 9 digit code in the "join meeting" box. The code is clearly shown in a box on the program's controls. They can now see your screen. BEWARE! They can see your WHOLE screen, and everything on the screen. Be sure to remove anything personal before starting.
(If you're like me and use more than one monitor, it only shows one of the screens; it will be highlighted with an orange border.)

That's it, you're welcome =)

I've done some last minute "off exchange" business, and am dealing with a few last stragglers for on-exchange and that's it. I won't bother marketing to get this business. It's unsustainable for me in the long run anyway with the forced enrollment coming on the heels of my Medicare enrollment. Not sure how I'd possibly service everyone and for the money, this group - especially individuals who are getting subsidies or who have never had insurance are too labor intensive for the amount I'd be paid. But, wasn't this really the point - force the agent out of the process? That's why they made it so difficult for us to be a part of it . . . .just my opinion . . . . .The fact that we have to be identified during the subsidy application part of the process and not when they are actually enrolling in the insurance plan is a big problem. Many of the calls I've gotten this week are people who already had the subsidy determination and were helped by a navigator or no one & now want the assistance of an agent to shop. One guy had no idea how he could edit his account, or establish a new one to incorporate my information. He is not computer literate. I can't do in person meetings for pennies. .. . .so, I assume he's going to return to the navigator. . .

I intentionally shut down mentally at the end of December, since then I have written 10 Off Exchange apps and have some others who may or may not call me back-I'm not calling them.

Since all of my business (with the exception of a few) are Off Exchange I've also gotten paid in full for all of the business for last year with a 12 month advance-so far there has been one cancellation out of over 100 policies.

I'm in a different place than most of you-with my renewal book and these 1st year commissions I really have little need to work at this. I've decided to just service my book of business each year during open enrollment (both U65 and Medicare), that will generate more than enough on-going 1st year commissions and renewals to live very happily with no stress.

With all of the screw up, extensions, and changes I do not get any sense of urgency from people about this especially the young.

no, no, no..... I have noticed a slow down as well..... lets all just relax and take what comes.... remember, in the Peeler Plan I projected 1 sell a day after the Dec 23 deadline and we have all creamed that number. All goals have been met, this is gravy

I could not have miscalculated the post Phase 1 market any more than I did... I blew that one

no slow down here folks.. Its been absolutely bananas. People will always wait
till the very last moment to enroll.

My ear is actually swollen ..

Thanks Ray!!! Its very much appreciated!

once you figure out how join.me works and share it with your clients they will absolutely love it... best thing is you record the entire transaction and they sign on the dotted line.

greatest thing since sliced bread.

btw has anyone here been paid on any subsidy apps?

Just got our commission check from BCBS and they reported no
subsidy cases or any cases submitted via .gov whatsoever. Was told
the Govt hasn't reported on exchange cases to the carriers yet. Any
info is appreciated.
