Part D Surprise 2010

\
"I advised her to call them up and get enrolled in Part A and Part B and then we would get together. Checked back today and it turns out they also enrolled her in Part D.

So I guess the gov't is getting proactive in enrolling the newbies to Medicare. Do they get the first year commish?"

They will auto enroll in Part D if the client is LIS or on Medicaid automatically. Was this the case?

I don't believe you people!

Did you actually think Part D Plans would actually cost less?

Did you think that companies would keep drugs with high claims use on their formulary?

I'm pissed that gas costs more than it did in 1998! Who wants to join me in that fight.

HELLO, MCFLY!

You guys kvetch (yiddish term meaning kvetch) more than the Medicare Beneficiaries do. Name me one insurance product that has gone down in price as the years go on.

:1baffled:

My philosophy: If you don't like it, and can't believe in it, you shouldn't be selling it.

Plan designs will change. Prices will go up.
Thanks for making me laugh:laugh::laugh::laugh:

Not to my k owledge. This is a business owner. But strange things happen

Just maybe we may not have to worry about Part D for the t-65 crowd. This prospect I was talking too did not initiate contact with Soc Security to get her medicare card. She will be 65 in Dec.

I advised her to call them up and get enrolled in Part A and Part B and then we would get together. Checked back today and it turns out they also enrolled her in Part D.

Perhaps in the next few years they will auto-enroll them in a med advantage plan as some have entertained in prior posts. With the number of plans shrinking, it may boil down to a choice of a hmo/pos or a ppo.

Did she maybe ask some question about Part D while on the phone with them that eventually led to them enrolling her i.e. "Yes we can help you with that and can enroll you in the plan of your choice" etc.

I would be surprised if they would proactively enroll her, but you never know. It's been about two years since I've had anything to do with Part D enrollment so I don't know what 1-800-Medicare or Social Security does with those calling with questions at this point.
