We hire local people...retired people wanting more work, stay at home mother's etc. We pay $10 per hour plus $5 per lead. We get on average about 20 policies a month out of it and it works out to about $11 a lead. We use them for personal lines. If you're writing life off your new households like you should be, it pays off.
In my opinion they are MUCH better then any internet lead. No competition and you can target multi-car homeowner's. For us, it pays off. We're currently hiring another one as well, I would do anything for 5 more of the 1 we already have!
