Avoid being in a partnership if at all possible.

I agree completely. I am not against a partial ESOP or producers having an opportunity to own part or all of their book within certain situations as you need to offer a nice package to get the best... but there can only be one captain. I have a lot of friends in the legal profession where partnerships are the norm... and they often end badly.
