I'll throw one more comment in. If your client is unsure whether or not their doctor accepts assignment, ask them if they pay him upfront and wait for Medicare reimbursement to them. Doctors who do not accept Medicare assignment require ALL the money UPFRONT from their patients, who then have to wait to be reimbursed from Medicare and their Med Supp.
Wonder why this doesn't happen often.. how many patients would go along with that? In my opinion, any of the plans C and above are basically equal. I think the skilled nursing care benefit is important, but the others are not. I have done this for 11 years and that is what I have learned in that time.
The only real benefit when considering plans is the Part B deductible, and that is easily decided on by comparing rates in your state. The other benefits are W-O-R-T-H-L-E-S-S. foreign travel? not needed, especially since they are already covered by medicare and ANY supp in the north american continent. How many seniors will travel outside the US, canada, or mexico? some, but VERY few. worthless benefit. $120 for flu shots covered by Medicare anyway? worthless benefit. At home recovery which is covered by medicare already? excess charges which don't exist? more worthless crap.
