Hi Guys and Gals

I have a client who wants 5k to 10k in coverage for funeral expenses but doesn't want whole life, he wants a term for 10 to 15yrs. He's 77yrs in good health and wants to pay around $75 bucks.....is this even possible?

no problem.

$ 8,000.00 Illinois mutual $71 PAC Oxford $81 PAC. Both Whole Life.

Cancel the policy at the end of the 10th year. All surrender values go to you at the end of ten years. Or better Reduced pdup, you as Bene. If he does not want the values :nah:

Those sound good only problem is that they are not A rated companies. Client wants an min A rated company. I'm thinking Americo at $78 for $6,500....Any others?

Why in the world would a guy want term for final expenses? That makes zero sense. I guess it does if he's going to have more cash on hand in 10 years than he does today.

10 bucks says he's a Dave Ramsey listener. Dave recommends term no matter what to people, they get really confused by it and won't even consider alternative options.

Believe it or not, I actually heard Dave take a call from a daughter asking about buying final expense insurance for her very poor health mother who had no money and was 77 years old. The daughter told Dave that his agency (Zander) already told her they couldn't help mom with term.

He said to the daughter that he would not be opposed to her buying a small burial policy on her but to MAKE SURE she doesn't pay over $35 to $40 per month for $10,000 or it wouldn't make any sense.

He's pretty unrealistic.

He could get $7500 whole life from RNA for $85/mo. on the SIWL. If he is truly in good health, he could get RNA's Royal Prime whole life, $10,000 for $68/mo. And, it's paid up in 20 years.:)

In Dave Ramsey's book he also suggests at some point buying a 1000$ car and driving it for 7 years. Most reasonable people understand that most 1000$ cars don't run for 7 years.

Dave is a getting out of debt expert, not an insurance expert, or a car expert.
