Policy Renewals

Assurant will be actively promoting ST MM and some version of Health Access in 2014. If a client buys one of these products, and become sick enough that they it makes sense to buy a MM plan on or off the exchange, they must wait until Jan 1st of the following year to do so.

YAgents what do you mean by this : I had lunch with 2 assurant execs last week stating jan 1 with health access and ST MM

heres what he means.....I'm a big-shot dining with the upper 1% at the country club... knocking back high dollar burbon and smoking imported cigars rolled by fidel himself....after about 3 burbon drinks the high dollar big shot execs started rambling about jan 1 health access.....

Soooo.. The bottom line is that if you're selling health plans with limits on the dollar amount of coverage for surgery, hospitalization, chemo, etc.., you're ________________________________.

Humana One just confirmed on their agent webinar that they will be allowing in-force clients to change to PPACA compliant plans ON THE RENEWAL DATE ON OR AFTER 1/1/2014.

They also said that MOST states allow them to do this, but they didn't mention which states do not.

So far, CA and WA are two states that will not. WA law states it must be done by March, so people have time to apply for new exchange plan effective 4/1/14
