If you are capable and willing to make 100 or more calls per day, every day M-F, assuming that you aren't an *** when you connect with people, assuming that you know the product lines and that you aren't afraid to ask questions.

How much weight would you put on that skill/ability in determining if you will be successful ?

100 people that answer the phone, or calling 100 numbers a day?

I can't help but think of the auto dialers. You will get a lot of answering machines, busy phone numbers, no answers, phone is out of order and most of the people will not be home. I would have killed for a predictive dialer by in the old days. If you are going to do cold calling. Be sure and get a predictive dialer setup.

I believe in the power of cold calling. It really depends on the agents phone skills and it is a numbers game.

I would have to call 50 phones numbers to get 1 appointment. I could get 4 to 5 appts in one day. 3 of them would not stand me up and I would sell 1 to 2 of them.
 
Cold calling will work. I would say that you would need to make more than 100 calls per day though. If you are calling businesses during the day then maybe you would only need to make 100 calls. They usually pick up the phone and you get to talk to someone LOL.
