Producers?

I have a small GA P&C agency with many direct appts and access to most. I am having a very difficult time finding Producers (commission only). With a starting 50% and quickly going to 70% payout, I would think this would be attractive. Anyone have any ideas?

Wow. Offer stock in the operation maybe?

Due to the economy it is becoming harder to hire agents on commission only.

You will have to sell the potential income they could earn by working at your agency, mention what type of marketing you are currently doing, mention some numbers like the size of your book of business, your production in the last few months and the number of leads coming into your agency.

Hope this helps.

I think that even though it's a fair comp plan on the commission basis most folks that aren't already in the business are looking for something with a base. Don't know what your budget is or what type of marketing support you provide, but maybe even an $9/hr base as a draw against the commissions would help. Either that or maybe just hire someone on a straight hourly.

Thanks for the responses. Yes renewals would be handled the same. Everytime I get one, they are either a poor Producer or leave for a salary position. I guess it really has to be a perfect fit for someone and or someone right out of college and living at home...............

Not ready yet to be able to offer any type of salary. Can help with marketing and leads, but ultimately it takes an aggressive go getter that can get by on almost nothing the first year.

Thanks again.
