In my area a lot of homes were built by General Cornwallis and the northern regime in the early 1900s, no one has a damn clue when the plumbing was redone in their home.

How do you go about people stating they don't know how old something is in their home or when it was last replaced?

baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahaahahhaha I love this intro!

I avoid placing those homes w/ my carriers who are hard w/ inspections. I mean people SHOULD know this information (it's concerning when they don't.) I screen knob & tube...galvanized pipes etc. But again, I just all out avoid the nit pickers (Kemper, Donegal etc.)

I'm doing all new buyers though so many times when they don't know (typically women..) I just get the home inspection.

But yeah that's tough. You can screen the electric by asking if they have circuit breakers vs fuses (most tend to know this.)
