Prospecting Med Supps

That strategy may work well with individual health insurance but it does not work well with Med Supps. If I set an appointment on Monday for Thur or Fri I will most often not make the sale. They will either forget that I'm coming and not be home, busy with doing something else or will have changed their mind even though I can save them money.

For every day that goes beyond "tomorrow" my chances of making a sale diminish. It is in my best interest to see them as soon after I talk to them as possible.

True dat!

When you see a number range quoted like this, it's a safe bet that it hasn't been tracked and measured - it's a guess.

Who cares if it has been EXACTLY measured? It's simply pointless.

I make about 100 calls a day and never speak to less than 30 people.

There's your 30%.

Keeping close track of lead return rates and other marketing efforts certainly makes sense, but I don't call more than 100 because I don't have enough time. It doesn't matter if I talked to 28% or 35% or even 45%. It keeps me BUSY enough!

What company do you all recommend for purchasing a list of prospects(name, phone number, address, DOB…) for Medicare Supplements. I apologize in advance because I know this probably has been answered in another thread. Thanks.

Billham - Use the search feature at the top of the page when searching for a particular question or subject. It will keep the information more organized and keep the threads from going off on different topics (at least less often than they already do) or start your own thread and good luck!

There are tons of companies that sell lists. I have been using Lead Concepts but they are more expensive than most. I have been told that US Data sells lists for $.035 per name. I believe that those lists have a "age range" instead of a DOB.

Lists that have an age range are pretty useless to me. I must have a DOB. I understand that US Data has lists with a DOB but they are a few cents per name more.

The only difference between one company and another is how frequently they update their data. Be sure to ask about that when purchasing a list.

30 percent is still a very high number....OK 1 percent is too low...Little embellishment on my part.

How do you make 100 phone calls in two hours 10-11am and 4-5pm.

My opinion, if insurance sales people called on the phone, and contacted 30 percent of the people they dialed, lead companies would not exist.:D
