I am a new p&c agent in Florida and I am looking to bring staff on because we have been so busy and I am unable to handle everything. Is it possible to hire an employee on commission only. I would have no problem suppyling the leads and give access to an enormous amount of carriers. If this impossible what type of splits are people doing for new and renewals. Is there any difference in hiring a 220 to a 440 agent. Thank you in advance for all your help.

I am new to this forum---thanks to all you professional gurus...
how much money initially a new Farmers employee have out of pocket expense... I was told to pay for my own background check......is this normal... your input is a very valuable product. thank you.

It depends on your position. Are you going to be a producer for Farmers (under and agent)? Or are you going to be the agent?

If you are going to hire someone commission only you won't be able to hire a 440 as this license is for customer service only and not eligible to receive commissions. I have worked commission only before and the agency I worked with offered 70% new business and 30% for renewals.
