But back to OP's question - You might check out nichemarketinsurers.com
They're like any other agency in that their bread and butter is DM leads, but they have some other marketing avenues that don't involve as much $. (But, the caveat is they don't work as well either.) I'm also suggesting them because they're located in NY, so may have a better understanding of marketing in the New England area than some of us southern guys.

As far as companies go, most of the big FE companies are available in CT. If you're just going part-time at first, I'd pick one main company where you can place most of your business, and one Guaranteed Issue carrier. Getting too many carriers in your bag as a part-timer will just bog you down.

David Duford has a video on selling FE part time: https://youtu.be/2rANQKt--EE

Them the breaks..

Of course, the real question is what is the ton made of, pennies or hundreds?

Reminds me of a story my cousin told me one. He lives in Vegas and at one time his wife worked for a bank there. One day a co-worker comes in and asks her, "Hey, have you ever seen a billion dollars?" Of course not, so they walk out to the loading dock and there was a billion dollars shrink-wrapped and palletted to be taken to the Fed.

I can only imagine what that looked like and how many pallets it took.

This wasn't long after Ocean's Eleven came out and they both work for casinos there. We were talking about how much space money takes up and he was telling me that the requirements about how much cash they have to have on hand isn't anything like what the movie suggests.
