I am studying for the state exam and the book has different info from the TesTeachers study guide. I'm hoping somebody with experience can clarify which is correct.

For the Incontestability period and Suicide on reinstatement:

- Book says new Incontestability period but NO new Suicide provision

- TesTeachers says new Incontestability period AND new Suicide provision

Which is correct?

Not sure if the state matters, but this is for the Florida exam.

I would go with what the state manual says. Even if they have a question regarding that it won't be more than one so I wouldn't spend alot of time on it.

Its really quite shocking to me that suicide is even covered at all. If I set fire to my house and burn it down, my homeowner's insurance claim will be denied. Why then should an insurance company pay a death benefit on a suicide (if done while sane), regardless of whether it occurs within two years of policy issue (or reinstatement)? It seems protecting human life should be more important than protecting property.
