Rising Minimum H/O Deductables?

the arguement over why a company wouldn't want to offer a low deductable if they charge the premium for it, I think has more to do with the money spent on dealing with a small claim

Say more or less a $1500 claim and a $15000 claim costs about 3 hours of labor at $50/hour for $150 in labor

that $1500 has an additional 10% cost compared to only 1% for the $15000 claim
 
Alfa Insurance, one of the largest insurers in Alabama, went to a 1000 minimum deductible over a year ago. Yet another reason to convert that term mortgage insurance to a permanent plan--the cash value could be used to cover the deductible, if needed--just a thought.
