I cant get anything issued with them on the EL side!

Just got an email, that they have ordered a APS on a case I submitted last week with a 54/F/NS for a whopping 30k, with hardly any meds, just for back pain & acid reflux. She also had surgery to remove her gall bladder & a bunion off her foot...Thats IT!!

So far, on the previous cases with RNA where they have ordered a APS, ALL were declined! Whats worst, this lady is with Kaiser, my last Kaiser case took 4mos to get a APS, and it was declined a week later.

For anyone who has used UHL's provider series...whats been your exp with them issuing policies & overall handling of the app?

Whats their turn around time? Prices arent the same, thats for sure....any input would be appreciated!

That had APS written all over it. You need to get a better sense of what is and is not going to trigger an APS. Back pain and surgery almost always equals pain meds. You would be shocked how many are abusing those same meds.

Now, I'm not defending RNA, but I would be shocked if there wasn't an APS on this, particularly as there was no exam.

If you think RNA's underwriting is tough and slow then you will hate UHL even more.

I don't have those issues with RNA's EL. I just had 2 issued today that I wrote last Tues. I just had one issued Monday on a 73 year old femal smoker that I wrote on May 15. She had to have the exam and they did an APS. So isued in 25 days including the exam and APS. And she didn't even have the exam until about 10 days after the application was written. Large case too. $271/mo.

Ibuprofen with gall bladder & bunion surgery is a recipe for an APS, really? At 54yrs old? When I 1st started submitting cases thru them, like my 1st 6-7, ALL were issued....my last 10, about 6-7 were declined.

They have def changed since last yr....

Not that, the back pain. What was she taking? If it was anything strong yes, that is an APS. It is amazing how many are abusing the meds. I'm not saying she is, but many are. Particularly if there was any back surgery in the past as well.

For a fee.:D I just recommended EL to a couple today for $180/mo total. At less than 50% commission now that's gonna sting.

No back surgery, just Ibuprofen...it wasnt severe back pain or anything, but that was 1 of only 2 meds she has!

What was the other med?

Also something to consider, your history of declines isn't helping. I bet they already assume it will be a decline by now and go looking for why.

I agre with Vol on this one. While I might not have expected an APS I wouldn't have been surprised by it either.

That's one that, had they done an exam there likely would not have been an APS.

Plus right now the RNA underwriters seem to be in job preservation mode.. Or maybe I should say job justification mode?

The other med is that 1 that starts with Ome "something" for acid reflux.

I agree my history isnt helping me....BUT I havent submitted cases that were any different then when I 1st started, they have changed, not me! I only submit those on who I think honestly can past it...otherwise its a waste of time & effort.

Screw them!
