Hello,

I am looking to talk with someone that can share with me info about the specific medicare supplement market in CA.

I'd like to know specifics like what can I expect for an ROI for a mailing?

I don't want to cold call, lol. Maybe its not the market for me in this case?

What companies do I need and why?

How does Kaiser impact this market?

Is it still profitable or not worth it since Kaiser is here?

I am looking for specifics not generalities. I have talked to many marketers mainly from other states and I don't trust they really know enough, particularly about my area. They have given me plenty of general info.

Thanks!

Send me an email with your phone number. Happy to discuss this with you.

You won't have to make a contribution to charity, embrace my religion (or lack of one) or contract with me.

Rick is definitely the most knowledgeable I know when it comes to Med Supps in CA. He will tell it "like really it is". No smoke or mirrors.

Hello,

I want to make sure I am not missing something. Based on the fact that Kaiser Permanente is here and it seems like at least half of the seniors I talk to have Kaiser, which allows no agents to sell their individual health plans and senior advantage HMO plans, it would be a bad area for med supp sales, especially older ages that may want to save money.

You can e-mail me directly if you don't want to share here.

Is there a way to know how many seniors have what company and med supp or med advantage in an area?

Or how many have Kaiser?

How do you evaluate an area for med supp?

I was checking out what Kaiser Permanente Senior Advantage HMO offers seniors here in my area its $74 a month for any age and $30 dollars co-pay per office visit. No deductible. Part D coverage with generic at $10 in the coverage gap.

I am assuming all this points to prospecting in rural areas would be much better?

Thanks again!

Hello Rick,

You were very helpful, thank you for taking that time to answer my questions. Thats was a very good initial education for me.

I forgot to ask the Kaiser stuff and the above questions.

Thanks again!

Right now, until late September, Med Supps are most easily sold in rural areas. In late September I anticipate marketing once again in Metro areas.

I believe that I will be able to show seniors that one of the new Med Supp plans will be a better investment of their premium dollar than retaining the MA plan that they have now.

You do realize you are comparing an apple to an orange?
For a med supp quote,
What is the age of the prospect? Smoker? Zip code?

I hope you are selling Medicare Advantage plans as Medicare Supplements. That's a BIG no-no with CMS. As DS4 stated, you are comparing apples and oranges.

If you want to compare Medicare Advantage plans, Medicare has this neat little tool on their website whereby you can compare all MA plans in a specific area. If you are going to operate in this market I suggest you learn to use it and also learn the difference between a Medicare Advantage plan and a Med Supp.

Hello,

Question for the Medicare gurus:

Is there a Medicare Supplement plan in this area that is a better investment for premium dollar than the Kaiser Permanente Senior Advanatge Plan in Santa Clara County, CA ?

If so, please compare or provide the plan and details.
