Selling Final Expense Part-time

Hi,
I am a part-time graduate student seeking a part-time employment (independent agent) to supplement my income. First, I am a formerly licensed Series 7&63, life, health, and annuity broker, though only minimal experience selling insurance products. However, I am somewhat familiar with the business.
I only want to work 20-25 hours a week with the hopes of earning $3500-4000 a month. Is this reasonable? I don't want to spend my time prospecting, just selling; I thought selling final expense would be a perfect complement to my experience and short term goals. I am willing to purchase my own leads.
Do you guys know of a company that would fit my situation? I live in Houston, Texas.
Mark

There are some on this forum that are going to have a field day with that comment. In short, probably not reasonable. Going be hard selling without doing your prospecting. If it were that easy who wouldn't do it??

After my original post, I read a few of the other threads. I doesn't look as easy as my friend had suggested. Hmmm... I wonder why he's not in the business anymore? lol!

Well, I am ready for the laughs and beating. It's all good to me. :)

It can be good money, but I agree probably not as easy as your friend suggested. You're starting in the right place, doing some research and asking questions.

It can be good $$, but takes some work. Good luck with whatever you choose!!

IMO, doing insurance part-time quadruples your learning curve. If you're not doing it all day, every day, you are going to forget and have to relearn the same lesson.

Never really thought about this, but this is very very true.

In which case, focusing on one product and a few top companies would certainly help your cause.
