We're getting in on the AARP pilot program through Hartford soon and we'll have access to the P & C products for all AARP members. The apparent drawback is that AARP does not allow the agency to advertise it's affiliation with them. So...we're limited to word of mouth advertising.

My first thought was to put it in my client newsletter but then I realized I really don't want my CSR's fielding calls from existing clients and doing rewrites off my current book. I ran a list count for our county on age 50+ automobile owners and came up with 12,000+, most of which are on the DNC. I am thinking of maybe a bulk postcard mailing announcing a "First Time Available Program" designed only for the over 50 age group at rates averaging 30% below the average for *&^% county. Call 1-800-### now to have a free rate package mailed to your home. Brought to you exclusively by the W----- Agency, your source for auto and home insurance since 1986.

Prolly get a really low response rate. Think about a mailing in an envelope, a letter and a reply postcard. Much more complicated than it sounds, but the response rate will be higher. Not much money in P&C to support a whole lot of marketing...

I was thinking the same thing, ROI probably be pretty bad on Direct Mail as always. What about large postcards announcing the new program and loading up the back side with photos and caption testimonials with satisfied clients who saved a ton of $$ ????? Anyone tried any testimonial type DM with any luck ?
