Where else can I find info on the proposed new do not call laws coming out in Sept. '09? This forum is the only place that I see it mentioned. No info on google or yahoo. Thanks for input.

I can understand the banning of them. They are annoying as H8LL.

But the politicians allowing themselves to keep doing them is VERY self-serving. They should only be allowed to people who "opt in" for them.

Self-serving? Blasphemy. Our good politicians do their good work for the good of the people. If you think for a minute Pelosi or Obama or any of the other politicians are doing what they do for any other cause than the pure nobility of creating a great country you are a sorely mistaken.

Those robots phone calls are needed from politicians to reach out to the people. We should be lucky enough to get a robot call from a politician.

I've been preaching about this for many months.

The fines will be stiff.

Predicitive Dialers with a human interface will be the replacement.

Agents will still be able to get high quality pre-screened leads for $20 to $30 depending on volume with most vendors.

This doesn't affect B2B -(yet).

I hear that they may be amending the TSR to include non requested autodialed calls by May 2010 to businesses. We'll know more after the meetings in August.

Predictive dialers are free. Well, you need a $75 computer to install it on.

Vicidial is a software that you can download and install and have your own predictive dialer. Oh yeah, you do need a phone line, probably pay $0.02 a minute for the calls..... Okay, free isn't always free (though vicidial truly is).

vicidialnow.org to download the full version. Install on a spare computer (it formats the harddrive) and set it up.

Only do this if you have more time than money, and even then as a hobby project. It takes a couple of hours to get it up and running if you know what you are doing. It takes 3 months to figure out what you are doing though.....

Don't buy hardware Mark - lease one.

I have one that is only 1.5 cents a minute - no monthly fees. You just have to load it with atleast $300 in the beginning.

If you have more money than time:

Best way is to pay the per minute and then pay per lead gathered.

If you have more time than money:

Just make the calls yourself @ 1.5 cents per minute.
