Shift in Allstate

If you go on SIAA's website you will see that Allstate has signed up with SIAA and will be distributing Allstate's products through SIAA's 5,000+ Independent Agents.

Allstate must have realized what Nationwide realized a while ago - the independent agency channel is the way to go and that they can't rely on just their captive agency force. And we all know that insurance carriers are like Lemmings in that they follow each other so I wonder how long it will be before State Farm does the same.

Has this been officially announced. The only info I can find on it is some guys blog.
