So, How Does This All Work?

I think your priorities are wrong. You should be concerned with learning the product, how to sell it, and most importantly where will the prospects come from. For over 25 years, most of my business has been placed thru various GA's-never once had issues or problems. Perhaps someone that has done MedSups for along period of time could enlighten us both.

I know the products I sell and I know how to sell it. I have had plenty of training in the classroom, online, through insurers and in the field. It is easy when you have a client contact you that knows what they want, but honestly, most of my clients are not sure what they want when I meet with them. Many times I am an informer prior to being a salesperson. Some are set on Med Supps, some want to look at Advantage plans or see both. Once I educate them, they are usually more than thankful and feel comfortable making an informed decision. I might sound like a newbie, but for me, helping people is what has made me enjoy this so much (and yes, getting paid has it's benefits too;))

For the record, I don't have a problem with my GA as an individual. I feel we work well together. However, I am just concerned that I wouldn't be better off on my own, able to own and build upon my book of business. Maybe my concerns are misplaced. Maybe I just simply don't understand the titles and how they are obtained. But this is the main reason I posted my original question. I am simply trying to look out for myself and be sure that the position I have put myself in as an agent is the right one.

I am still planning on picking your brain, Frank. Family has been sick and of course, I'm the last to get it. I've been running on only a couple hours of sleep each night. I want my head to be clear when we talk :).

Give me a call whenever you are ready. As I said, there is no bad time to call me.

As I said, there is no bad time to call me.

Some years back, one of my agents aroused me from sound slumber at 3:40AM to come down to the jail and bond him out (his wife hung up on him). His poker game at a country club got busted. The only thing worse was that one of the local judges was in the game too!

Do you offer this type of service?

As long as the corporate jet is not in for repairs and the pilot isn't too drunk I will go anywhere, anytime.
