Be careful what you ask for. What you get with it might not make it something you're really looking for ...

Notice that they are going after the companies with these ridiculous fines. Socialist minded governments always seem to go after the hand that feeds them.

AWESOME!

The US is one of the fattest countries in the World. And soon
we'll be able to waddle around and claim "we are #1".

In 10 years, a full 75 percent of Americans will be overweight, making it "the fattest country in the OECD".

If bad health factors in your control can be influenced, I'm all for it.

Face it, you are bombarded with advertisements that influence what you do, wouldn't it be nice once in a while if that influence was actually good for you?

DC is starved for cash. Obamacare was about tax increases, not improving health care or making health insurance affordable.

I seem to recall that tax increases on families/businesses earning over $250k annually is a cornerstone of health reform, but when is this supposed to kick in?

When the Bush tax cuts expire on 12/31/2010, that will add an additional $2,000 to the tax bill of the average $50,000 family of 4 next year.

Add in the HCR tax increase and an economic disaster could be in the making.

Go thru the bill.

Search the word tax starting in section 9001

Just did. That section is describing the excise tax on high cost Group policies. It doesn't go into effect until January 1, 2018.

Do you recall how the subsidy money for 2014 going forward was supposed to be generated. Wasn't there some kind of tax on the "wealthy" that starts in 2011?

EDIT TO ADD: I just found a list of the Tax Changes. Looks like the near-term tax increases are negligible.

Allen, the entire cost of "reform" is coming in the form of (at least) $1 trillion in taxes.

Of course, based on history, the govt always misses the mark and underestimates the cost of everything, especially entitlements.

Half the uninsured now will go in Medicaid which is funded mostly by state taxes. Those tax increases are not factored in to Obamacrap.

In spite of the rhetoric, Obamacrap is not deficit neutral.
