Some fun stats--I have been told several times here "Hey seniors have computers in their pocket! Smart Phones!" so I did some digging
According to Pew Research March 2018, 34% of people over 65 dont even use the Internet!
Who's not online?
Also Pew Research, 60% of Seniors do not have a smartphone

And there are variations by income, geography etc. In my area, MO and KS Internet usage is lower than say on either coast.
According to Google, Internet users over 45 use the internet for:
66% News and Weather (top Sites Foxnews, Bloomberg and Weather.com)
57% Shopping (Overstock.com and Merchantcircle)
45% Discounts (Livingsocial, Shopathome, Salehot)
44% Food (Food.com, Foodnetworks, Cooks.com)
43% Games
82% use Youtube
43% Facebook
23% Netflix
23% Hulu
