I sold this lady a policy she wanted to pay annually, $600, sale she scheduled it for bank draft.

She calls me 2 days before draft, if she can still cancel, I asked her why, she says she showed her son the policy, he said, mom why do you need this policy, I am giving you an insurance policy for your birthday, it was supposed to be a surprise .

I told her, of course she can cancel, she should mail me letter, its also going to be an issue, since company will draft anyway, they said it was sent to payment already, & its going to NSF, she told me, she dosent have money in bank now.

How do I save this sale

How was he going to give her a policy without her knowledge? Talk to the son and get the facts. Then compete with what program they have in place or are putting in place.

Idea: The Son gives her an ins policy where you are the agent!

Obviously he hasn't actually bought the policy since Mom would have to have prior knowledge of the policy, signing as Insured, unless her name/sig had been forged. I would tell the Mom/insured that I need to speak directly to her son and if after doing so she still wants to cancel, then you can take care of that for her. Bottom line is, all the son needs to do is to pay the prem for this same policy you've arranged/sold, and he has gifted the prem/policy to her. Done!

I don't know how he could get her a policy, without her signing as insured. Unless she forgot, or the son forged a signature....Like others said, she is probably lying, and I wouldn't feel too bad about her having her bank account being assessed and overdraft fee

That's a pretty nice gift for a son to give to his mother.

Here Mom, here is your birthday present. It is a ten thousand dollar life insurance policy so when you do die I get $10,000. It also has an accidental death rider, so if you die in a car accident I will get $20,000!

Happy Birthday to me!!

There is no sale. Nothing to save.

Move on and find a real prospect.

Agreed 2 days ago she wanted to pay annual but scheduled a bank draft instead of writing a check (ok some people no longer have paper checks) but now 2 days later the funds are not there. I believe the funds never existed and this is a BS story.
