Who all writes 64 and under med sups for SSDI recipients? All I have is BC BS here in Iowa, and I think UCT. She lost her Medicaid in November on account of a second home, which evidently was never found to be listed in her assets at the time.

Do you think she has a special signing period because of losing Medicaid that way? I say this because she really needs an issue date earlier than Feb 1.

There is NO GI provision for those losing medicaid. At least on the CMS level. Your state may have something.

You know she's really screwed don't ya? She received benefits from the state that she was not eligible for. They are not done with her yet. They will attach those unreported assets and want their money back... NOW!

Yeah...I figured they'd rescind her Medicaid. She claims her 2nd home should have been repossessed, or in other words...ignorance of the law.

BCBS has both a GI and an open enrollment every Jan, Feb and March. I'm inclined to put her on the BC in open enrollment as I'm not sure if she'd mete the test for continuous coverage for any other GI. I'm not sure how that would work, and you know my MGA wouldn't be able to answer that scenario.

Actually, this forum is the best source of information....over MGA, home office or Medicare....haha

Back in the good ole days you would of sold her a United American disability supplement and made 60% commish the first year and 15% every year after and then when she turned 65 you could of sold her a more affordable supp. Now a days those poor underage people on medicare disability are worthless.

Back in the good ole days you'd sell her three or four med sups to make sure all the cracks were filled.
