If you knock doors you are going to get the law called on you occasionally. Just keep your cool and explain why you were there. The few times it happened to me the officer usually ended up laughing. And don't forget to prospect the police while you have them in front of you. I mean, they are going to ask you what you're up to - tell them!

You need at least $99 for a one month subscription to salesdatalist to pull some door knock lists, or, better yet, you have $450 to $500 to drop 1000 DM cards in the area you want to work using Main STreet Power Mail. You might get back 5 to 15 cards which are doors you will definitely want to go door knock. The reason you use Main Street Powermail is that they will give you access to the whole mail list mapped out on an online application that you can access from your phone, iPad, or computer for one year. I have not found any other mail house to offer this service. Then you can follow Doug's process outlined in the video below

You're in Florida. I'd be careful about choosing the area to work. If I were in Florida the only person I'd want to speak to would be Doug Massi @Agentguy5 because he will be able to help you NOT waste money by mailing to an area where you will not find likely prospects.

You said you don't have the funds for leads.. That translates to broke as related to the business.. You also indicate you do not want to rely on leads... that leaves cold calling, working referrals, seminars or flea markets... Take your pick.
