Suing State Farm?

No settlement has been offered. I get your point. We will continue on with the case for sure. 2 years has been a long time to wait for something to happen, but dont worry. With my military bearing and persistance. I refuse to give up without a fight. Thanks for the help Vol

I would suggest a real heart to heart talk with your mom first. You really need to make sure she isn't hiding it from you that she did make the change. The last thing you need is for her to have a sudden crisis of guilt and admit on the witness stand that she did make those changes. Hopefully the attorney has already done this, but she might be willing to admit it to you if no one else. See if she did anything that might even be construed as making a change to the policy.

Of course, you would be wise to consult your attorney before this heart to heart.

Any new updates?

Have you tried those people on the news who bust local businesses that screw people over (consumer watchdog)? Maybe itll put a little pressure on your insurer...

I payed a full coverage payment on May 1st. I never spoke to my agent. Just his secretary. I asked if there was anything that would make my payments cheaper while i was deployed. She told me i could change my coverage to a storage policy. I payed my FULL coverage payment that day. On May 5th i was in a different country. My brother wreaked my truck on may 9th. My mother contacted my agent and he told her i wasn't covered. My bills started to come in for a cheaper price and my statement said i was under a storage policy. I told him to change my policy back to what it was because i never authorized the change in the first place. he told me they wouldn't change it back unless i signed something saying i was changing my policy.

No one except someone with access to your policy or your documents can give you a firm answer because consumer's memory is sometimes selective. Anytime we take away or reduce coverage of any kind the burden of proof is always on the agent, however, there is still some responsibility on the consumer. When you loaned your vehicle you should have called to make sure your brother who was not rated on the policy would be covered, if you didn't I don't think you should be yelling lawsuit so quickly. You can't just throw folks the keys and not think about it again, until AFTER an accident as it appears happened. Sorry but I think this one's on you.
