Does anyone have a great deal of success with telemarketing for leads?

I really don't have the time to deal with hiring, training, purchasing equipment and office space, etc for a telemarketing here in house. However, that may be the way to go. Does anyone have experience with that?

Currently, I offer interested telemarketers a $ per lead with bonuses and I give them a form they fill out online when they have a lead to send in. I am just getting started but I think this should work out ok. I am just looking for any suggestions and or experience with this.

Thanks

That is the only way I get my leads. I only work the senior market and I believe it lends itself more to telemarketing than other areas of insurance. At least it is easier.

I'm having great success with it in health insurance. Final expense has been pretty good too.

Personally I think it's a complete waste of time and money to work with telemarketers but fail to train them to do what you want and to do it right. I have one telemarketer that got 7 solid health leads in less than three hours of dialing on Friday. He'll usually get me in the neighborhood of 5-8/day, sometimes more. The reason why he does so well is because I took the time to hire the right telemarketer, train him correctly, give him solid data to call on, and gave him the right equipment to do it. I have him work from home and it works out well for everyone.

Outsourcing tle-marketing for commercial lines pays off because the premiums are higher, and for the cost related to in-house you get more bang for your buck hiring it out, plus when you do this you don't have the headache of time off, vacations etc. You must do your research and make sure the firm you choose does not outsource their calls, and do not sign a contract. The right firm will make you money on your investment and relieve allot of headaches for you as well.
