I'm just reviewing these new requirements. Looks like the College wants to do more than just have you pass the final exam to pass each course.
At 18:19 in the video:
- 10 week course outline + 4 week grace period?
- Optional weekly meetings
- Lesson reviews (worth 10% of your grade)
- Lesson quizzes are now REQUIRED (worth 10% of your grade).
- Discussion articles (worth 10% of your grade)
- Final exam (worth 70% of your grade)
This primarily affects core CFP courses (Planning process, investments, taxation, retirement planning, investments, and estate planning) and not yet other courses - including the comprehensive course or the extended planning course.
Here's my opinion: I don't care for all the minutia. I liked the old way of just going through the material and just pass the final exam. "C's earn degrees." Earning an A is way overrated in these courses.
Glad I already earned mine.
