A couple of days ago I received the following notification from Sherpa:
"On Friday, November 27, CMS notified HealthSherpa that they now require all web brokers to redirect users to www.healthcare.gov to complete the APTC (subsidy) eligibility determination step of the application process."
Today I submitted 4 apps through Sherpa and as far as I can see, basically there is little difference from doing the app directly through HC.gov. Being optimistic, you probably have to do 70% of the government app before you are transferred back to Sherpa. Is this worth $10 at this point, I sincerely doubt it? I took about 20 minutes on each app and in one occasion the government app hung and got stuck and all the info was lost--had to start from scratch.
I still have to see if this is happening with Rabbittapp or ACAExpress. In Rabbit I have not seen this issue, don't know about ACA. According to Sherpa this new disposition would apply to all web brokers---still to be seen.
If what I've experienced is going to be extended, then the demise is around the corner.
As of 12/04/15 I have not seen any re-direct happening in Rabbittapp or ACAexpress. This makes them up to now, a better more efficient option.
