The Dems Are Whining !!

Good news!
Nothing new here. To paraphrase Mark Twain-there is a huge difference between a lightening bug and lightening. So too a difference between pro-insurance and pro-broker. I don't give rat's ass if they are pro-insurance. Let's have them start talking about the importance of brokers-then I'll get excited.

Not sure that's good news. I think every insurance exec would be tickled to cut the agent out of the delivery system. It increases the bottom line.

Totally agree with that one. I don't know if anyone else knows, but what other cost cutting efforts are the companies making, besides us? Just wondering.

Who here knows more about this process than me? Can the House/Senate repeal a bill without the president signing off?

I think a repeal is just like any other bill, where the president can veto and if so, a super-majority can override the veto, which this bill does not have.

Eliminating agents, or agent comp, won't improve carrier bottom lines. If it did they would have given us the boot a long time ago.

Having exchanges won't change that.

Congress makes the law and sends it to El Prez for signature. If he refuses to sign it, it becomes law in 10 days. If he veto's the law, Congress can override with a 2/3 majority.

If they can work it, can you blame them? My fear: rates will be so high no one can afford them anyway except the poor getting a free ride. I look at the last round of increases in my area and I wonder how much further it will go before people say the hell with it.

As the old saying goes, 'one cannot pay enough to its productive sales force'. Even GEICO is having local agents now. Hope, insurance companies will understand soon 'agents are the king'..
