Direct mail is expensive and only getting more so. Maybe you should slow down, look at some other, more affordable options for leads before you pack it in. Might want to make sure you have good contracts as well, not sure who you're selling with now, but if they have you at anything less than an 80% commission and you're covering your own lead costs... Then you might want to look at other options. There's a lot of good information on here from agents with a lot of experience.

John Savage was one of the 1st ins. agents to sell 100 million of face amount. His circle talk is really good. He passed away around 1994 I think. His quote" Serve the masses and you will eat with the classes" should be taken to heart by every Life Insurance agent.

What are you opinions for the best source to get lower cost leads than DM?
I don't like direct mail. I am trying it because I want the guys on this forum who use Direct mail, to prove it to me. It's all about Return on Investment. ROI. I have owned small white collar businesses my whole working life. The best earners had a niche market or a connection. For Example. Wife was in property and casualty Insurance, while the Husband owned a Real Estate agency. Freaking Connections....Plain and Simple. Mortgage bankers. Obviously. Or Financial Planners, Example. The man is a financial planner and the brother works as a CPA. "Access to client information."Now in the FE arena ? My gut tells me a connection in the medical field, or a tax preparer who knows if the person has little or no life insurance, or a divorce attorney, Imagine this ? The court orders the parties to get life insurance, and the risk is unhealthy and the big insurance companies are too expensive to purchase from. Do you agree?
