Thinking of Leaving "The Business"

Keep your license active just in case. It won't cost much, and I'll bet you'll be surprised at the business you can bump into when the pressure for a weekly paycheck is off.

NOW STOP IT! He wants us all to talk him out of it and tell him it is going to get better.

I have a friend, yes I do but only one, who's favorite saying is, "Cheer up, things could be worse". "So, I cheered up and sure enough, things got worse". :D

If all of us can make money selling insurance then there is no logical reason, if he works at it, that he shouldn't be able to.

I'm not asking anyone to "try and talk me out of it" I'm just asking has anyone else bought into this scam that this is going to net you millions as long as you hire (x) amount of people and do what I say and you'll be a success. At this point, I've had two different companies selling me some line of BS and if I didn't have a spouse to rely on, I could never have lasted this long. I feel these so-called "managers" tell you what you want to hear to keep trailing you along and all along they're just worried and wanting you to stay so you can net "them" more money in the long run, pyramid scam? If it talks like a cow, moos like a cow, it's probably a cow.

Any comments?

You got that right. It is a scam. Keep moving.

The majority on here if not all have bought into the same BS here too and most have bought it more then once, so you are no different.

The difference between failure and success is what you do with the information once you have it and how quickly you pick yourself up.

...this is going to net you millions as long as you hire (x) amount of people and do what I say and you'll be a success.

That is a total line of BS.

I'm not the only one on here that at one time hired agents thinking that it would bring in a lot of additional money. Guess what? I don't have any agents working for me now, neither do several others here who tried it at one time.

I make more money now with less hassle and stress than when I was babysitting a bunch of adults.

Get the right product, learn to prospect and you will never have to worry about money.

I know everyone has aspects about their job that they do not like doing, no one has a perfect job, but I also think that if you dislike the majority of what you're doing and you're not getting paid to boot, it may be time to let it go. I'm no stranger to hard work, just not selling insurance door-to-door.

There's nothing wrong with your wanting to make a steady check. Or ,leaving an industry that is interesting to you , but not profitable.
Making a living at sales is not for everyone. Some people are naturals, and some have to work their tails off to get somewhere. And some, probably need to go back to the parts counter or paint store and make some money so they can buy the baby some milk.

This business requires you to be a salesman. It is a constatnt belly to belly thing. Without a prospect, you are nothing. So, you have to wake up every morning and worry about where the next one is coming from. You have to sell them on the phone, and then sell them the product.

If it doesn't fit you, then go to something more comfortable. You will do better.
It sounds as though you gave it a good try.. Hold your head high if you exit...and know that you did. But most of all do what you have to to feed the faamily.

In this economy you might consider having a job or whatever it is you want to do already in the bag before you throw in the towel.

A wise man once said:

"You have to be moving forward to fall on your face; if you fell on your ass, get out!"

Rob Liano will come along soon enough to tell me who said this, and then start quoting this in his posts........
