To Lease or Own...That is the Question

A christian who has never heard of Dave Ramsey?

Maybe the Mennonite denomination aren't brainwashable, like Southern Baptists....lol.

I'm a SB so I can say that.

Best deal I got on a car.... 2004 Mazda 6 S, 25k sticker, bought new in 2005, as an 04 leftover, 16.8. Paid cash and financed 15k at a low rate. About to make the last payments.

Beats the hell out of leasing a brand new car and taking a big depreciation hit.

Next one will be a used one from manheim/auction,

What I really like, the rates that the Saab 9-3's are going for, audi a6's, and land rovers.... though I got an itchin for a Porsche Cayman.

Oh, Dave Ramsey, the Mennonite church has it's own programs very similar but have been around for 50 years. There are very few Mennonites over the age of 50 that have any debt. This is different for us younger guys but I think most are real conservative with their money.

I don't spend too much money on things, I like to spend money on having fun, like taking my wife to Dollywood on New Years Eve to see the Christmas lights and the New Years eve celebration or taking the kids to an Orioles game or a UVA game.

UVA?!??!?!? Come on Dwayne. I agree though. We sacrifice to go on nice trips together. We remember trips and stuff a lot better than what TV or outfit we bought 5 years ago.

tv.....13 years old however I'm actually starting to cave and looking for a new one. But same here; I value experiences more than "stuff." I'd rather go on a great vacation than buy a gadget.
