Obama is going to tap Daschle to be Secretary of Health and Human Services. He was a hard core supporter of HillaryCare the first time around.

Whatever Obama's health care proposal is going to be, believe me, it is going to be pink with both Daschle and Hillary hovering around. Not that Obama isnt pink all by himself.

Plenty of Clintonistas coming back.

I'm worried. As we all know Hillary along with at the time a Democratic Congress got us universal healthc....oh, wait - they failed.

They did. And now the public just elected a President with a mandate to make it happen.

ummm...history lesson. Bill Clinton's major platform was national healthcare and when elected Congress was controlled by Democrats.

"The people" were clamoring for national healthcare in '93. Went nowhere at light speed and EVERYTHING was for them.

Hint: MOST people have employer sponsored healthcare so MOST people don't want change.

We have national healthcare for old people and children already. I hear there are a lot of rules and it pays commissions for 6 years.

5 states already have GI coverage. If it's so great there why don't the other 45 copy.

Money, but the feds have lots of it to spend. Especially money they dont have. You throw a trillion dollars at programs that have not "worked" then suddenly they start "working". The failure of the experimental programs in the states has only convinced more and more dems that it can only be managed and funded by the feds. I am not advocating this. I am just saying this is the prevailing mindset.

Let's save social security, medicare and medicaid first.

Look, we can't even give our seniors decent healthcare. They only get part A - have to pay for part B then have to get a supp for pure protection.

If we can't give our seniors comprehensive health insurance how are we supposed to do it for the entire country.

It is less about whether the congress can give them decent health care... but in reality it is more about CONTROL over the healthcare dollars. CONTROL brings power and power is what it is really all about. Bureaucrats crave power, and the race is on for greater CONTROL.

Employer sponsored health plans are going to become fewer and fewer, with the economy. The big guys at GM used to go around saying they are not really a car company- but rather a healthcare provider for their employees, and they can't figure out how to pay for it.
