Tough Case in Missouri... Any Takers or Suggestions.

If you put him in a MAPD special needs plan and this is his first time in the plan, he will have a 12 month trial period, if he's not happy he should be able to go back to original medicare and possibly a medicare supplement on a GI basis. Because he doesn't have a med supp, he might not have the GI for the med supp, it's worth finding out though

For an SNP there is a continuous SEP.

Put him on a MAPD for 1.01.12. Make sure you pick a MAPD that will fail sometime in 2012, thus, opening up GI to a med supp 1.01.13.:D

1. The only SNP in his area is CIP. My opinion and experience with them prevents me from even mentioning their name to a beneficiary.

2. The 12 month rule does not apply to this person.

Also, what about the guarantee issue you have in MO on Med supps. Isn't it on their birthday or something?

Read the first post in this thread. Important details escaped your attention. No supp means he has NO GI provision in MO.
