TRANS VS SNL

"SNLs modified is nice, probably the best "Near-GI" on the market"

What are you basing that statement on. As far as ease of issue(fewer disqualifiers), I believe Settlers Bronze would be better.
Two problems with Settlers.. Premium and the fact they limit the amount of Bronze that can be submitted..

Good points. I just looked and Settlers isn't even close in price. I haven't used either one for a while. Settlers has had a price increase and I never did like the limit on Bronze.

As far as price SNL would be hard to beat on a ROP, but as Josh pointed out conditions that SNL issues ROP, you can get Level with other companies.

I like SNL for things like this:

Client w/ COPD, cancer free for 6 months & a heart attack 4 months ago.

Client w/ Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinsons & a stroke 4 months ago.

No one would take those level but SNL is gonna be best price and great advanced commission considering the client conditions with 10% bonus after $1,500 in premium for the month. Working full time you will EASILY get into that 10% lead credit bonus. Also, w/ no real chance of getting replaced on price.

in TN, they opened up

With the addition of the security care in TN, they opened up coverage to a lot more people with the limited (graded plan)... Of course the SC plan does pay quite a bit less commission than the SSP..

Man I'm absolutely loving this forum lately!!!

In regards to the original thread, I stopped using SNL all together about a year ago and have to say I haven't missed it in all honesty. I wouldn't be able to say that about Transamerica (even with their headaches) for what it's worth.

With that said, I wouldn't want either to be my "go-to". I'm interested as to why you narrowed it down to those two thespur1?

What were the reasons you quit using them?

When you guys are referencing the SNL Modified - are you talking about the ROP on the Simple Security Plan? Or the Security Care Plan (which appears to be a 3 year graded)?

One was I was getting more and more cases moved from their "awesome" rop plan to some as earned no commission plan that was not even worth writing (can't remember the name of it).

Two, as many mentioned here, I was having bank draft issues and that's unacceptable in this line of business. I agree, they were wonderful to deal with at the home office, but that doesn't make up for this in my experience.

Three, I was getting too spread out as far as carriers I was using. I'm of the opinion that it's much more manageable for me to use a small handful of carriers and scale that as opposed to 15 different carriers no matter how appealing anyone else makes that sound. Sure I might be able to save a client $5 and put them with a company from Timbuktu, but if I only write that company every two months and I get charged back it's no bueno. So if that scenario plays out multiple times with a several companies and I'm out of business I can't "help" anymore seniors and while I love me some steakburgers I'd rather not have to flip them myself.

Good to see you back around here!
