Trump is the New Fed Chairman??

Sorry, had to go for the obvious joke!
I won't pretend to understand the hows or why's of the Fed. But since I live and work in the Dallas metroplex, I'm usually up on all the Kennedy conspiracies. My favorite is that he was shot because he was about to investigate, and maybe shut down, the Federal Reserve. So maybe Trump thinks it's wiser to just take it over vs shutting it down?

Seriously, though, any expansion of power in the executive branch always makes me uneasy. Our current president may have great reasons for making these moves, given the current crisis. But another president may use the setup to advance a dangerous agenda.
I believe we're still suffering enormously from changes that were made during the Great Depression. Roosevelt's initiatives to help American workers at that time may have been born from a heart of compassion, but the long term ramifications resulted in greatly expanding the power of a centralized Federal Government, and we've never been able to undo the damage.

Is it intended to be a hit piece? Funny how those who think having the government be the only one to teach your children and the government be the only one in charge of your healthcare decide to camp out here.

Government overreach is bad. But I'd rather have elected officials controlling the $ than some deep state Rothschild conspiracy.

I'd rather have money tied to gold and let the market determine the outcome. Worked for hundreds of years and we had manageable public debt, even during WWII. Yes, it was huge, but we were able to get out from under ti rather quickly. We aren't ever getting out from under what we got now.

The only reason I pooped on your windshield wuz because I thought it was funny - no political reason. I'm nowhere near that sophisticated, but I definitely am that immature.
