Turning 65 Leads ?

I've written 5 med-supps off of a turning 65 list(30 mile radius of my office), just in the last 4-5 weeks. I've written 2 of them PDP plans.

Not bad for an area infested w/Tricare.

Im not having too much luck off of T65 because most people just signed up for a med supp. I then tell them that Im not looking to change their med supp plan, I just want to introduce myself and my company.

How in the world do you get someone who has just signed up to sit with you?

Shouldn't you be calling them earlier?

That's what I was thinking.

I just called one that will be on Medicare 11-01-09. I've set up an appt. with her for next Friday. MoO will let you write them up to 6 months before their Medicare starts and make the policy effective the same date the Medicare starts.

Yeah...if you wait until the Medicare almost starts you've waited too long. It's best to call them 3-4 months before their Medicare begins.

***Other agents are calling them too***

If you want to make money, you have to sell. It's usually too late if they've already got a med-supp....just my experience doing this.

Say what? MoO will only allow two months in advance, unless it varies from state to state. Or at least that is what they have told me. And UHC will allow 3 months in advance.

If it's OE, it's 6 months in Florida and Alabama w/MoO. I've written a few that were 3-4 months away from their Medicare start date. I called MoO and that's what an underwriter told me....up to 6 months.

AARP is 3 months prior to Medicare for submission of application in Florida.
