I have a family in Minnesota that was approved with the exception of the husband. The husband was declined due to a few DUI's. the last DUI was August 2007. He claims he doesn't drink anymore. Anyone have any ideas for coverage with this case? Thanks in advance!

Rick

Does Minnesota have a high risk pool that can be used? Assurant has a coverage option for high risk individuals as well. Could use it as a stop gap until the 5 years is up.

Anthem will not auto-decline due to a DUI.....with several may be another question, but I spoke with an underwriter about a similar case where they had been charged with DUI. They said as long as they have not had treatment in a rehab facility/program and do not currently drink excessively that they could still possibly qualify dependent on other risk factors. We're going to submit the app on that one in a couple weeks, so we'll see what comes back.
