Uninsured Rate Drops To Lowest Level Since The '90s

Unless you are the colored company....

Our state's Co-op is the only health insurer that can give Blue Cross (IL) a run for its money. The premiums are cheaper and network is better in much of the state. No other insurer is even close to competing with the 500 pound colored gorilla.

But as we've pointed out several times, and Ray once again today, most of them are losing money. In fact, our Co-op has only paid commissions 2 times this year...and the 2nd (Feb) run was way too low. As Hans Solo said, "I got a bad feeling about this!".

"an increase of 33 percent for off-exchange individual plans sold by a unit of UnitedHealth Group Inc" Yeah baby time to FLIP FLIP FLIP

"52 percent increase proposed by a company that apparently is leaving the market" Is this Assurant? And if so, is this for the rest of 2015?

Prices are only set once per year.

And Florida uh.c pays 6 2nd yr if over 50 policies on books

The rate increases for CT have to be taken in the context that the rates for 2015 were an average of 5% lower than in 2014 so you just can't assume increases in other states will be similar. It is possible that rate increases may be lower than this in states that saw rate increases for 2015 (such as Florida).
