i'm numb to data breaches at this point. they happen almost on a daily basis at this point.
Chances are her personal info was already leaked in one of the 40 other data breaches that happened this year.

Just advice her to freeze her credit, and/or get some credit monitoring service.

Probably not, the letter is overkill, but take advantage of the "free" credit monitoring.

The letter will tell how to apply for it.

In the last three years or so my records have been involved in at least 4 data breaches. I have taken all but one of the free monitoring options. some are dropping off now.

You get an email each month telling you if there are any changes you need to check up on.

Data breach happened 2/2024. Member enrolled 8 months later. Does she need to be concerned about a breach that occurred 8 months before UHC even knew who she was?

yeah-interesting how UHC just sent out those notices 9 months later. I knew about it in FEB due to my Mom getting denials on her UHC plan and UHC couldn't process pre auths, payments.....
